Most Australian business websites cost $2,000 to $40,000 plus GST, depending on how many page designs they need and what they connect to. Ours start at $8,000. Most of the sites we build start at $12,000, and sites with member areas or system integrations start at $20,000.
Prices here are in Australian dollars, plus GST. Brisbane prices are the same: we build from our studio in Everton Hills.
Table of Contents
The market runs from a few hundred dollars to $100,000 and up
| What you’re buying | What the market charges |
|---|---|
| A 3 to 5 page brochure site | $500 to $1,775 ex GST |
| A small business site, 5 to 10 pages | $2,000 to $6,000 |
| A custom site with a content system | $6,000 to $15,000 |
| A site connected to other systems | $15,000 to $40,000 |
| A web app or portal | $25,000 to $100,000 and up |
| Agency time, by the hour | $100 to $250 |
The spread is wide because “website” covers a five-page brochure and a members’ portal. Two quotes can both say “small business website” and describe very different jobs. For Singapore prices, see what a website costs in Singapore.

Our builds start at $8,000, and most at $12,000
What moves a quote up the range:
- Page templates. A template is one page design, reused. A home page, a service page, a team page and an article page are four templates, even if the site has 60 pages. This is the clearest driver of price.
- Content to move. Bringing across 20 pages is a different job from bringing across 500.
- Systems to connect. A CRM, bookings, payments or a members’ area each add work. Builds with these start at $20,000.
- Sign-off. If a board, IT team or compliance has to approve the site, there’s documentation and testing on top.
Most of our sites launch in 8 to 12 weeks, and that includes moving your content across. Large platforms and complex migrations take longer, and we quote them on their own.
What we build on
Most of our builds are a custom theme on WordPress, built with Bootstrap and ACF. Some use Beaver Builder, where your team wants to change layouts themselves. We don’t resell off-the-shelf templates.
You own the site from the first day, through the build and after.
What drove the scope on three Australian sites
Gossip Gowns, Brisbane. A formal-wear boutique with a three-floor showroom. We moved the store onto WooCommerce. We built an automatic stock sync with a designer label, so the site only shows dresses the label can supply. The stock sync and a large catalogue drove the scope. August 2026 was its best online revenue month on record.
Let’s Talk Let’s Eat, Brisbane and Mackay. A speech pathology practice with three clinics. The site has five service pages and a page for each clinic. The team runs its own staff profiles. Parents and job applicants each get their own form. Page templates and locations drove the scope.
The Pinnacle Foundation. A national charity whose old site, built by another agency, broke often. We rebuilt it on WordPress around the path from first visit to donation, working with the charity’s brand agency. Replacing the old build and moving its content drove the scope.
What does a website quote usually leave out?
Ask about each of these, because the cheapest quote often excludes them:
- Hosting. A place on our Australian servers is $20 to $30 a month.
- Looking after it. Care plans run $147, $297 or $497 a month. The maintenance cost guide compares them.
- Writing and photography. We’ll put your words and images on the page. Writing or shooting them is a separate job.
- Premium plugins. On a care plan, the ones we use are included. Bought on your own, they run about US$300 to US$450 a year.
- GST. Some quotes show it and some don’t. Ask.
How do you compare three quotes?
Put them side by side and check the same lines on each:
- How many page templates? If a quote doesn’t say, ask.
- How many rounds of design changes?
- Who moves the content, and how many pages?
- Is GST included in the figure?
- Is hosting included, and for how long?
- Who owns the site and the code when you leave?
- What does looking after it cost after launch?
A quote that’s $4,000 cheaper and leaves out hosting, content and care can end up costing more within a year.
Quotes are only comparable if every agency prices the same job. Setting the site’s goals first is how you get there.
Under $8,000? Ask anyway
We still quote smaller jobs. Sometimes that’s a lighter scope, sometimes a time block of 10 to 40 hours on the site you already have. If you’re not sure what the site needs, our $697 health check is a written report with two hours of fixes included.
Questions about website costs
How do payments work?
Usually in four stages: 50% to start, then 20%, 20% and 10% as the build reaches agreed milestones.
Do you only work with Brisbane businesses?
No. We’re based in Everton Hills and work with organisations across Australia, mostly over Zoom.
Why is a cheap website so much cheaper?
Usually because it’s built on a ready-made template, moves no content, connects to nothing and comes with no care afterwards. That can be the right call for a small site. Check what’s left out before you compare totals.
