Rift Systems
Rift Systems distributes seismic and geotechnical monitoring instruments across the US and Canada. We replaced their basic Wix site with a WordPress catalogue, advanced filtering and an RFQ wizard built for engineers.
Wix has no export, so leaving means a rebuild. We rebuild your site in WordPress, carry every page and post across and keep your search traffic.
Wix is a quick way to get online. The editor is friendly, and a small site can be live in a weekend.
Most of Wix’s limits appear when you try to leave. Wix has no site export. Its own help centre says blog posts can’t be exported to another platform. Once you start editing a template, you can’t swap it. A new look means a new site. Bookings, memberships and other extras usually arrive as App Market apps, each with its own plan.
So we rebuild the site in WordPress and move the content across, post by post.
Each new feature is another monthly plan from the App Market.
On Wix, that means building a new site.
And Wix has no way to export them.
B2B pricing, complex shipping, or a catalogue you manage in spreadsheets.
Your CRM, booking system or ERP should talk to the site directly.
Code, content and hosting in your name. Any WordPress developer can work on it.
Your Wix plan keeps running until the domain moves. After launch we unpublish the Wix version, so Google only sees one copy.
Every page, post, product, form and app listed, with Search Console data on what brings traffic.
A URL map, a content plan and a WordPress replacement for every Wix app.
Your current look carried over, or refreshed. Two rounds of revisions on the homepage and two on inner pages.
Built on a private copy. Posts moved by hand, products and contacts imported from Wix's exports.
Links, forms and checkout checked before the domain moves.
We switch the domain, unpublish the Wix site and train your team on the new editor.
Code, content and hosting you control, with no premium plan to renew.
Blog posts moved one by one, with their dates, authors and images.
Wix's product, order and contact exports loaded into WooCommerce.
/post/ and /product-page/ addresses kept, everything else redirected.
Forms, bookings and memberships running on your own hosting.
Updates, backups and security after launch, if you want us to look after it.
“You guys have done a great job so far.”
Rift Systems after leaving Wix (Search Console, December 2025 to September 2026).
Rift Systems, all on the same WordPress build (riftsys.com/brands, October 2026).
From discovery to launch for most Wix sites.
WordPress runs over 40% of the web, so most Wix apps have a plugin that does the same job.
Pages and posts stay put when the theme changes.
WordPress has a built-in export, and the database is yours.
Bookings, memberships, multilingual sites and larger stores are common WordPress builds.
It's standard WordPress, so you're never tied to one agency.
Physical products, orders and contacts export as spreadsheets (CSV), up to 5,000 rows per file. Digital products don’t export, and neither do blog posts, pages or layouts. Those are rebuilt and moved by hand. If you bought a logo through Wix, download the files before you close the account.
Launch the WordPress site and point your domain at it first. A domain bought through Wix can stay there or transfer out, except within 60 days of buying it or changing its owner details. Business email through Wix keeps working, and Wix support can move its billing to Google. Then cancel the premium plan. The old site stays online at a free wixsite.com address with Wix ads, so unpublish it. Wix only refunds a plan cancelled within 14 days of first buying it.
If the site is a few pages, does what you need and your team likes editing it, stay. Move once you’re paying for apps to fill gaps, or when it’s time for a redesign.

No one can. Wix has no site export, and blog posts can’t be exported at all. Products, orders and contacts come out as CSV files. Everything else is rebuilt and moved by hand.
Mostly, yes. WordPress can keep Wix’s /post/ and /product-page/ addresses. Anything that has to change gets a 301 redirect, a permanent pointer Google follows. Expect a few weeks of movement while Google recrawls.
Yes. We can match the look you have, or use the move to fix what isn’t working. It’s rebuilt in WordPress either way.
Yes. Physical products, categories and orders come across to WooCommerce from Wix’s exports. Digital products don’t export, so we add those by hand.
Each one gets a WordPress replacement. Most are standard plugins. A few need custom work, and we’ll tell you which before you sign.
Your domain stays yours. If you bought it through Wix, it can stay there or transfer out once the 60-day lock has passed. Email through Wix’s Google Workspace keeps working.
After the new site is live and the domain points to it. Then unpublish the Wix site, because it stays online at a wixsite.com address after the plan ends.
8 to 12 weeks for most sites. Larger stores and custom features take longer.
Most Wix sites cost $8,000 to $15,000. There’s no export to start from, so it’s priced as a rebuild, with a fixed quote after discovery.
Care plans start at $147 a month for updates, backups and security. Some clients look after the site themselves, and you’re never locked in.
