Gordian Capital website

Gordian Capital

Asia's largest institutional fund platform needed a website that matched its standing. We rebuilt it on WordPress, protected its search equity and compliance pages through the restructure, and gave its China desk a proper Mandarin home.

Rebuilt Gordian Capital's website on WordPress with 301 redirects for 22 legacy URLs, rewritten metadata across 23 pages, and a Mandarin-language page serving asset managers in mainland China.

What we were solving

Gordian Capital is a licensed asset management firm established in Singapore in 2005, operating Asia's first and largest institutional cross-border fund platform. Coverage of its 2025 acquisition by IQ-EQ described tens of billions of US dollars under management, overwhelmingly from institutional investors, and more than a hundred funds launched over two decades, with offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Melbourne. Its clients, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and corporates, judge a counterparty by how it presents itself.

A regulated firm cannot treat a rebuild casually. Pages on regulation and governance, risk management, disclaimers, terms and copyright had to survive the move intact. The old flat structure, with pages like /our-team and /vcc at the root, was being reorganised under sections such as /about-us/ and /our-services/, so every legacy URL would break unless redirected.

Success meant a new structure with no lost search equity or compliance content, and a proper home for Gordian's Mandarin-speaking China desk.

How we tackled it

A redirect map before anything else

The new site nested pages logically: leadership, milestones and value proposition under About Us; the fund platform, fund solutions, private wealth solutions and VCC pages under Our Services; risk management and Why Singapore under Regulation & Governance. We mapped all 22 legacy URLs to their new paths with 301 redirects so existing rankings, backlinks and bookmarks carried across, and wrote fresh meta titles and descriptions for 23 pages, including the Chinese-language homepage and disclaimer.

A Mandarin page for the China desk

Gordian's Mandarin-speaking team works with asset managers in Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou and other mainland financial centres, helping them take products offshore. Rather than translating the whole site, we built one Chinese-language page from client-supplied Mandarin copy: the 高谛安资本 brand story, a comparison table showing the two routes to setting up a Singapore fund (build your own licensed operation, or launch on Gordian's platform), the three service lines, anonymised mandate examples, and contact details for the Shanghai representative office. A Chinese flag link in the main navigation leads visitors there. A separate Chinese disclaimer page sits in the footer, because regulated content needs its disclaimer in the language it is read in.

Post-launch QA and handover

After go-live we ran a round of QA changes, fixed optimisation bugs and onboarded the site to our website care plan, with a training call so the Gordian team could manage day-to-day content themselves. The site runs on WordPress, hosted on WP Engine.

What we delivered

Gordian Capital now has a restructured, two-language website that kept every legacy URL and compliance page through the move. Visitors land on the sections a counterparty expects to find (About Us, Our Services, Regulation & Governance) instead of a flat list of pages, and the firm's risk, disclaimer and governance content sits where it did before for search engines and bookmarks. The China desk has a dedicated Mandarin landing page it can put in front of mainland prospects, with its own disclaimer. The team was handed a site it can update itself, backed by an ongoing care plan.

What we learned

On financial services sites, the redirect map is a first-class deliverable. A 404 on a risk management or disclaimer page undermines the impression the rest of the site is built to create. Mapping URLs and metadata before launch, in one spreadsheet the client could review, made the restructure a non-event in search terms.

Multilingual does not have to mean a parallel site. Gordian's China desk needed one well-built Mandarin page, not a translated copy of every page. Matching the language investment to the audience kept the content maintainable.
